WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
When home skin products aren’t effective, but you don’t want surgery, learn more about nonsurgical procedures for skin rejuvenation, like SkinPen® microneedling. Nurse Practitioner Briana Torrey is pleased to perform microneedling (collagen induction therapy) at her office in Weymouth, MA. SkinPen microneedling uses multiple fine-gauge needles to effectively and safely create micro-injuries in the needed areas of the skin.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MICRONEEDLING?
At Brisa Aesthetics, we provide microneedling for people who wish to gain a variety of advantages:
- Safe, noninvasive procedure choice
- Enhanced smoothness and look of complexion
- Diminished appearance of wrinkles, lines, and age signs
- Reduction of scars, pigmentation issues, or stretch marks
IS MICRONEEDLING RIGHT FOR ME?
You could benefit from microneedling if you experience slight or mild skin issues, like a decrease in elasticity or rough skin texture. Microneedling procedures may also minimize the appearance of pores, scars, and stretch marks. You must be willing to wait before seeing benefits from your microneedling treatment because the elastin and collagen will need some time to impact the complexion, but you will have natural-looking results and gain healthier overall skin.
HOW DOES SKINPEN MICRONEEDLING WORK?
SkinPen microneedling is completed in a private treatment room in about 30 – 60 minutes with local anesthesia or numbing cream if desired; however, most patients generally report little or no discomfort. The areas of skin being treated will be cleaned before the microneedling handpiece is evenly passed over. After the microneedling is performed, a treatment like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or a vitamin-infused serum may be applied for deeper penetration of the nutrients into the skin. A moisturizer will be massaged in along with sun protection because the treated skin will be more sensitive following the procedure.
